This humorous and heartwarming play centers on a long-married elderly couple, Norman and Ethel, who spend each summer at their beloved lake home. But when their daughter arrives with her fiance and his son in tow, bitterness over childhood wrongs mar the reunion. After agreeing to host the boy for the season, Norman and Ethel find themselves compelled to reexamine their past and redefine their twilight years together on Golden Pond. Now coming to the Welk Resort Theatre San Diego, the play won three Tony Awards in its original Broadway run, and the 1981 film adaptation received 10 Oscar nominations, with wins for its stars Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn, as well as writer Ernest Thompson.
