Move over, Miss America -- there's a new Pageant in town! A loving ribbing of national beauty pageants, this clever, tongue-in-cheek show from OB Theatre Company takes its shots not by mocking the wild world of pageants from the outside, but by actually being one. Six contestants will take the Ocean Beach Playhouse and Arts Center stage to compete for the title of Miss Glamouresse, named after the show's fictional cosmetics company sponsor. You'll meet Miss Deep South, Miss West Coast, Miss Texas, Miss Great Plains, Miss Bible Belt and Miss Industrial Northeast as they compete in evening gown, talent, swimsuit and spokes-modeling competitions (the finalists answer "actual" calls from the Glamouresse Beauty Crisis Hotline!). The show's judges, selected from the audience, actually vote and determine the grand prize winner each night, so no two shows are ever the same.
